Customers of a closed tanning salon won’t get burned. Another salon stepped up to take in those with tanning packages.
Desert Tan near 157th and Pacific in Omaha abruptly closed over the weekend. Owner Larry Beber told Six On Your Side. “The tax on tanning is what really hurt our business. The 10 percent tax that was applied was the real reason for our closing.”
Customers who bought tanning sessions even as late as last week will not get burned.
Tropical Tans is offering to take all Desert Tan customers. Mike Cone of tropical tans said,”Any packages they currently have whether it is a month or a couple of weeks into it we’ll extend that to a full 30 days.”
Tropical Tans has several locations in the metro and Fremont. Another tanning salon called Ashley Lynn’s also offered to help any customers of Desert Tan who want to transfer minutes there.
