The purchase of a $1,500 sauna almost two months ago has the Fremont buyer hot under the collar. The two person sauna has yet to be delivered.
Mark Legband bought the sauna while he and his wife visited the Home Show in Omaha march 31st. The sauna listed at $3,400 by Saunacorp of California, a home show vendor. The couple thought $1,500 was a good deal but they had to buy right then.
Mark Legband said, “They’re at the home show. You trust them that your check is good, they cashed it and you’re going to get your sauna. You don’t get it so that’s what tis so frustrating about it.”
Adding to his frustration Mark said he make an estimated 100 phone calls the past two months. Most to the sauna company and some to the show promoter. But he didn’t get any answers if or when the sauna would arrive.
Channel Six News Fact Finders got a call back from Saunacorp. A spokesman apologizes to customers for the delay. Up to 25 customers are waiting on delivers of saunas including tow in Nebraska. He said the factory hasn’t kept up with orders but the company isn’t out to take customer money. Saunacorp is hoping shipment direct fro the factory will speed up the process.
Mark should get his sauna before June first. The Better Business Bureau president Jim Hegarty said consumers shouldn’t be pressured to make buys at these shows without checking out the company first. Saunacorp has a C plus rating.
