Two construction employees are caught in the middle of a unique crime. Their boss told them to pickup crushed asphalt at a pile along Highway 36 and 96th street in northern Douglas County.
A curious Douglas Co. Sheriff’s deputy saw them loading the material with a front end loader into dump truck. The workers said they were supposed to deliver the crushed asphalt to their boss’s address.
The product belongs to the State dept of Roads which did not give permission. The boss was cited misdemeanor theft. One worker had an outstanding warrant so he was taken in. It happened Sunday about 2pm.
The material was dumped out
