Creighton University is hosting a week-long series of events this month to celebrate the legacy of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
The events will run from Jan. 21-25. This year's events will focus on King's message of nonviolence.
The events include a Unity Prayer Luncheon, a "cake and choir" celebration and a presentation of student and community awards.
This year's awards will go to a worker for the Boys and Girls Club of the Midlands, and the founder of an Omaha group that offers long-term services for family members of homicide victims.
