Homeowners along Hell Creek, in southwest Omaha, are nervous about a city plan to remove cement lining from the waterway.
That concern brought a packed house to Westwood Church Tuesday. The property owners are worried about potential flooding.
Older homeowners remember the devastating flood in the 1960s. That is the reason the cement is there now.
Marlene Cihacek lives near the creek and she said, “It's going back to where it was before, right down to the dirt. And it's not going to be nothing. It is not going to be anything."
The city plans to have several meetings with the public. On Tuesday organizers distributed forms so that the public could voice concerns and current issues.
