CrashVehicle2

Two vehicles slam into each other. Between them, there are three people inside. When you see the pictures of the vehicles, you might assume the worst. Gage County authorities say there is one reason why everyone lived to tell about their experience. All three were saved by restraints.

The crash happened about 3:45pm Friday southwest of Beatrice, Nebraska. Gage County deputies were called to Southwest 142nd Street and Aspen Road. They found 24-year old Stephanie Meinke of Clatonia and her 3-year old son Daniel inside their 2001 Ford sedan. In the other vehicle, they found 40-year old Kelley Little of Hallam inside her 2011 Chevy SUV.

Meinke and Little were treated at Bryan LGH West in Lincoln. Meinke’s son was treated and released at Crete Hospital. Seatbelts, airbags, and a child safety seat were all in used.

Also involved in response to the crash: Clatonia Fire & Rescue, Wilber Fire & Rescue, Corland Fire, and Star Care V.
