Four people were hospitalized Sunday night after, police say, a red light runner caused a two-vehicle crash.
It happened around 10 p.m. at 16th and Martha Streets. According to police reports, 18-year-old Jhoan Morgado was texting and ran the red light. His vehicle t-boned a car driven by 25-year-old George Stephen.
Stephen complained of pain to his knee and chest; however, he was not hospitalized.
Morgado was taken to the hospital to have glass fragments removed from his eye. He was cited for not having a driver's license, violation of a traffic signal, and texting while driving.
He had three passengers in his car who were also taken to the hospital. They have been identified as 22-year-old Fernando Martin, 20-year-old Jose Abarca, and a 17-year-old. According to police, none of the three were wearing seat belts.
Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in the collision.
