Traffic began moving on Interstate-29 shortly before 8:30 Tuesday night after a traffic accident shut it down for hours.
The truck accident had halted traffic in both directions between North 16th Street and Exit 61: I-680 near Council Bluffs.
That accident triggered a hazardous material spill. A number of vehicles were being forced to exit at 25th Street.
We also observed vehicles using River Road, which runs along the interstate, but even those traffic lanes were later shut down.
According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, traffic resumed Tuesday evening.
