Seven people, many of them children, were hospitalized Wednesday afternoon after the SUV they were riding in flipped over at an Omaha intersection.
Two vehicles crashed at Park Avenue and Harney Street just after 4 p.m. Police were investigating whether one driver ran a red light.
“All these down here are kind of blind and people run them all the time, either side of the interstate are the worst ones, 28th or 29th. This one is usually not so bad, but people try to beat the lights all the time.”
Officers said none of the children were wearing seat belts or were in car seats. The youngest victim, a 2-month-old, was sitting on his grandmother's lap.
One victim was in critical condition, two were in serious condition.
