A vehicle rolled several times, just southeast of the metro, sending two 17-year-olds to the hospital.
Just before 10:30 Monday night, 17-year-old Caleb Stander of Weeping Water and 17-year-old Travis Melo of Manley were driving just outside Weeping Water when Stander lost control. The vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop in a ditch. Both teens were ejected.
One of the boys was able to walk to a nearby farm to ask for help, the other was unconscious. Both were taken to Creighton University Medical Center for treatment. As of Tuesday afternoon, Stander was listed in critical condition and Melo in fair.
Investigators said speed was a factor in the crash. Neither was wearing a seatbelt.
