A two-year-old boy is with child protective services. His father and girlfriend are believed to be behind the child's numerous injuries, including a severe mouth infection.
Twenty-six-year-old Chad Cymbalista and his girlfriend Nicole Corcoran were living in a south central Omaha home with her three children, and his one son, until recently. All children were removed from the house when the couple was arrested for child abuse of Cymbalista's two-year-old son, Aiden.
Omaha Police say Aiden had multiple scraps and bruises all over his head and body. They also say he had a severe infection in his mouth that went untreated for some time.
Corcoran's mother says she never saw any abuse. She also said that Aiden seemed withdrawn. Experts with the Child Saving Institute in Omaha say that could be a sign of abuse.
