Councilman Pleads No Contest To Gambling At State Basketball Tournament

Kearney City Councilman Randy Buschkoetter pleaded no contest Thursday to a charge of gambling at the Nebraska Boys State Basketball Tournament.

The 49-year-old plead no contest in Lancaster County Court to engaging in gambling, a misdemeanor. He paid a $200 fine plus court costs.

Lincoln police said off-duty officers saw Buschkoetter take several bets that his 21-year-old daughter wrote down in a notebook during games at Pinnacle Bank Arena on March 14th.

Buschkoetter's daughter was also cited, but charges were never filed against her.
