Shannon Coleen Barritt of Council Bluffs, Iowa, was sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 120 months for her participation in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in and about Council Bluffs.
Judge James E. Gritzner also ordered the Defendant to serve a five (5) year term of supervised release following her imprisonment, and imposed an assessment of $100 to the Crime Victims Fund.
The defendant remained in the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation of a Federal Bureau of Prisons facility at which the defendant will be imprisoned.
On July 9, 2010, Shannon Coleen Barritt appeared in Federal District Court in Council Bluffs and entered a plea of guilty to the charge of Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine
in an amount greater than 500 grams.
The Defendant admitted that she was part of a conspiracy
that involved at least three other people, and that the conspiracy operated from at least the summer or fall of 2007 to in or about July of 2009.
As a part of the same conspiracy, Eugene Allen Wise has already been sentenced to 132 months imprisonment, Vickie Sue Wise to 144 months imprisonment, and Donald Wayne Wiseto 168 months imprisonment. In the same conspiracy, Joseph Michael Bogdan has entered aguilty plea and is awaiting sentencing.
This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District
of Iowa, and was investigated by the SouthWest Iowa Narcotics Task Force.
