The Omaha City Council is taking a first of its kind action against a business in the Old Market. They say that business has become a problem.
Police have been called out several times to Maria Sangria this summer located at 11th and Farnam. Tuesday the city council voted to initiate the Good Neighbor Ordinance.
Councilman Chris Jerram said, “This one particular business, how they’re using their property, is really in a way that shows they’re not a good neighbor and they need to be reined in.”
The restaurant owner will soon receive a letter with changes that need to be made. She has a right to appeal that letter. If changes aren’t made, the council can take the business occupancy permit.
