Veterans with the American Legion in Council Bluffs have put together a fundraiser to help raise money to place a bronze eagle statue on the veterans memorial in front of the RailsWest Railroad Museum.
So far, they've raised $65,000 of the $100,000 needed to pay for and place the statue.
On Saturday, September 15th, a fundraiser will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the American Legion Post 2, 716 South 4th Street, in an effort to raise more money.
The fundraiser will feature a car and bike show, live music and raffle.
The event is open to the public. Admission is $5 and it's an additional $5 for dinner.
