Police say the man who robbed a Council Bluffs Walgreens at gunpoint Tuesday night fits the description of the suspect believed responsible for a string of robberies and attempted robberies last Sunday.
A man demanded money from the clerk at the North 25th Street and West Broadway store around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. He grabbed the cash from the register draw as another employee carrying a cash drawer approached. The suspect took that money as well and ran from the scene.
Officers called for to the Eddy's gas station/convenience store on East Broadway near Nicholas Street around 12:45 a.m. Sunday say a man entered with panty hose covering his face, pointed a gun at a customer near the counter and ordered the clerk to give him what was in the cash register. After receiving the money, the suspect ran from the business.
Less than an hour later at 1:37 a.m., the same man allegedly robbed the Kwik Shop near North 16th Street and Avenue G at gunpoint. At 2:07 a.m., the suspect tried to rob the Microtel Inn near South 35th Street and 23rd Avenue, but could not get through a locked security door and fled.
About 15 minutes later, he tried again at the Speedee Mart on 9th Avenue just east of Interstate 29. The clerk was in a glass-secured area and dropped to the floor. The suspect again ran off empty-handed.
Police say he should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about the suspect or robberies is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 712-328-7867.
