Council Bluffs officials are evaluating the damage to city-owned grass soccer fields after a weekend tournament.
More than 160 teams took part in the tournament at the Council Bluffs Sports Complex. The Council Bluffs Futbol Club hosted the weekend event.
The turf at the complex was wet which made the grass more susceptible to damage from large crowds.
City officials have not yet determined the extent of the damage. But at this point they expect to have the fields ready for action in the spring.
