A Sarpy county couple says they fear they'll be paying twice for a new roof. A contractor they trusted was paid, but he hasn't done the work. So they are asking, how about a refund?
The contractor promised he would be paying them back but so far no refund.
Ray Patterson, the homeowner says, " Water came down here" The Patterson’s had an unexpected leak in their house and bank account because a contractor didn't come through. Renee Patterson/homeowner says; none of it would have happened if he had put the roof on when we had paid for it and he done it on time.
The couple paid Reuter construction $6,000 eight months ago. Patterson says, "That's a lot of money for us you know. And we thought we'd get a new roof but now we had to start over paid someone else to do it..Renee Patterson adds, "It hurts a lot, I cried for two weeks."
Reuter construction has five complaints and an F rating with the Better Business Bureau Jim Hegarty Bureau president says, " It's based on ignored complaints. The company has no responded to the BBB requests that it respond to us."
Brian Reuter tells Fact Finders, "I’m getting money back from materials so they will be getting their refund." Despite the 'f' rating with the BBB the contractor says his workmanship is great.
The contractor tells fact finders he has a hundred satisfied customers.He provided contact information for one That customer says Reuter, "Did a great job, I have no complaints."
But at least four others do judging by legal action filed against the contractor. Renee Patterson says: "You can't just take somebody's money and just walk off with it."
