The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers released a report Friday that provides progress updates with ongoing repair projects along the Missouri River. The USACE is working on 18 levee rehabilitation projects which were triggered by the Summer 2011 flood. Some of those are considered substantially complete.
Among the projects the report listed is the Omaha Flood Protection Project in Omaha. The USACE reports that all critical repairs have been completed. That includes installation of new flap gates on discharge pipes at two pump stations.
Other projects listed as substantially complete include levees south of Bellevue, a levee in Council Bluffs, a levee near Hamburg, and two levees near Rockport, Missouri.
