Omaha Police Officer Kevin Wiese will once again be caged up in the cold, at the “Cage a Cop” event at Village Pointe from Friday, December 20 to Sunday, December 22, 2013.

Officer Wiese will be caged for the duration of the event, and needs donations from the public to set him free.

Last year, Officer Wiese raised $5,000 for Special Olympics through the Cage a Cop event. This year, he would like to match that amount.

Anyone wishing to donate can do so between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, near the Scooter’s at Village Pointe or click the link included with this story to donate online.

The Cage a Cop fundraiser is associated with the Law Enforcement Torch Run organization, which raises money for Special Olympics. In 2012, Nebraska law enforcement officers raised $265,000 during the torch run.
