A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Colfax, Madison, Platte and Stanton counties in Nebraska until 7:45 p.m. Sunday.
Six homes were evacuated Tuesday morning after a contracting crew accidentally cut a gas line in Council Bluffs.
The homes are located on Park Circle, just northwest of Mercy Hospital.
Officials told Channel 6 News that the crew was putting in a retaining wall. They were using a chainsaw to cut through some tree roots, when they hit a gas line.
Black Hills Energy was called to the scene to repair the gas leak. No one was hurt.
