A construction worker, who was directing traffic, in Cass County, Nebraska is recovering after being hit by a car.
The sheriff says 79-year-old Barbara Ross of Eagle, hit the flagman at Highway 34 & 190th Street just west of Eagle. The incident occurred just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The flagman, identified as 64-year old Danny Crownover of Unadilla, was taken to a Lincoln hospital with serious injuries. Ross' car also struck a Caterpillar 3-5 ton pneumatic street roller, which was driven by a Nebraska Department of Roads employee. The driver, 48-year old Andrew Stander, Jr. refused treatment at the scene.
According to reports, Ross indicated she knew it was a construction zone but did not see Crownover standing on the road directing traffic. She was cited for reckless driving.
