The stage is almost set for the Red Sky concerts at TD Ameritrade Park. One fan’s purchase of two tickets on line turned into an expensive journey.
Howard Ball went to a website called TD Ameritrade Park Tickets. Ball said, “I thought I was dealing directly with TD Ameritrade Park.” Instead he logged onto an independent site not connected to the Omaha Meca box office. Ball paid more than $200 for two tickets that when they came showed a face value of $15 each.
Ball said, “How are they able to mark them up five times face value because if they sold them in front of the stadium they’d be caught for scalping.”
The website does have disclaimers that it’s independently owned and tickets may be more than face value.
Meca president Roger Dixon said, “If you are not going to the box office or its not ticket master then you are at risk.”
