After more than 30 years at the Douglas County Courthouse, Thursday was the last day on the job for retiring Omaha City Prosecutor Marty Conboy.
Cleaning out the office, he came upon decades of legal history, including photos passed down from his predecessor of the riots in the 1960s and the push for a cruising ordinance 50 years ago.
“The fact is this job has been the center of a lot of interesting things over the decades and will be in the future and it’s important to keep in touch with the fact something like this, where kids are doing goofy stuff on a Saturday night, is not new, it’s been going on since before we were born.”
David Smallheiser takes over prosecuting duties on an interim basis. A permanent replacement may take a few months to go through the selection process.
