A fundraiser in Blue Hill has generated more than $5,000 for emergency crews that responded to a fatal crash involving a school bus and a tractor-trailer.

The donations from community members have reached $5,400.

Blue Hill Community Schools Superintendent Joe'l Ruybalid says about $4,200 was raised at the Doniphan Trumbull football game that took place just two days after the Sept. 7 accident. He says the outpouring of support and appreciation for the first responders has been tremendous.

The crash between the bus and tractor trailer killed four people, including the drivers of both vehicles and two local students.
