People who live in or near the central Nebraska village of Oconto are donating clothes and household items for family members who fled flames that destroyed their home.

Lexington radio station KRVN says the fire was reported about 2:15 a.m. Wednesday. Ronald and Janelle Alspaugh and their four children escaped from the house, which now sits as a charred shell about four miles northwest of Oconto.

No injuries have been reported. The fire cause is being investigated.

Oconto is a village of about 150 residents in Custer County.
