Douglas County Deputies and courthouse staff have taken measures to ensure the melee that played out in front of a Channel 6 camera never happens again.
The fight broke out on February 12th, after a 2nd degree murder sentence was handed down.
What started out as insults quickly turned physical and extra deputies were called in to stop the brawl.
Since that time new procedures have been put in place which will alert deputies about the need for increased presence or the possibility of physical confrontation.
Captain Wayne Hudson tells Channel 6 News his deputies are now alerted a full day in advance of any potential problems.
A similar system is being worked out with Douglas County Corrections.
