Some college experts say parents and students can expect costs for textbooks to rise again.
According to 'The College Board', a non profit that tracks college costs, the average college student at a public four-year college spent $1,168 on textbooks and course materials for the 2011-2012 academic year.
That was up 3% from the prior year.
But there are ways to save by comparing all formats.
It may be a good idea to rent some books, buy a few as e-books and print copies of others.
