Motorcycle and semi collision is a close call. The accident occurred Friday just before 1pm at the intersection of Highway 75 and East Bay Road. The motorcycle driver was taken to the hospital.
The Cassgram reports Sheriff Brueggemann said the motorcycle was a 2002 Harley Davidson driven by Delbert Peters, age 47, of Plattsmouth. The semi, one of the trucks belonging to Pink Grading which is hauling dirt for the Highway 75 Expansion Project, was driven by Clint Brown, age 42, of Prescott, Iowa.
A witness told the sheriff’s deputy that both the semi and the motorcycle were northbound on Highway 75 and the traffic behind the semi appeared to believe the semi was turning left onto Bay Road. The motorcycle then started passing the semi on the right side but the semi turned right toward East Bay Road and ran over the motorcycle, said the sheriff's report.
Plattsmouth EMS and Plattsmouth Volunteer Fire Department responded. Peters was alert and talking with rescue and fire personnel. He was taken to Bellevue Medical Center with injuries that the sheriff’s report said were minor.
