A sex discrimination lawsuit filed for a firefighter says the city of Clinton, Iowa wouldn't accommodate her with light duty while she was pregnant.
Karen McQuistion says in the lawsuit filed last month that the fire chief, who's since retired, wouldn't give her light duty such as inspections and hydrant checks.
The lawsuit says the city police department has given light duty to pregnant officers and that injured firefighters have been given light duty.
The lawsuit doesn't list a dollar amount but seeks compensation and punitive damages that it says would deter similar discriminatory acts.
The city attorney and administrator didn't immediately return calls from The Associated Press on Friday.
