A Council Bluffs woman finds herself in a difficult place after a city tree falls down on top of her car, totaling it.
The tree came down right on top of Jennifer Lee's 2007 Chrysler Town and Country. She panicked at the sight of it on Tuesday because her family's livelihood depends on her car. Lee is a caregiver.
“It's really sad," said Lee. "I keep looking at them and it was a good car. It was easy for my clients to get in and out of it. Now, I got to start all over and try to find another one that's going to fit everybody else and just trying to get back on my feet right away so that I can continue working and not miss a lot of work.”
Lee will be filling out a claim with the city, hoping to get some help.
If anyone finds themselves in a similar situation, call the Council Bluffs City Attorney's office at (712) 328-4620 to request a claim form.
