Homeowners in Southwest Omaha that live along Hell Creek are nervous about a recently announced city plan.
About 75 people packed into Westwood church to discuss the 'Hell Creek at Westwood Lane Stream Rehabilitation Project.'
Right now the creek is lined with cement, and the city wants to replace it with a natural bed. But this has some of the homeowners worried about the potential flooding.
Older homeowners remember the devastating flood in the 1960s; the reason the cement is now there.
"It's going back to where it was before. Right down to the dirt, and it's not going to be nothing, it is not going to be anything," said Marlene Cihacek.
The city plans to have several meetings with the public. At Tuesday's meeting, they gave out forms so that the public could voice concerns and current issues.
