Omaha Public Power District crews worked to restore power to customers left in the dark due to a circuit problem and strong winds blowing through the metro on Saturday.
At its peak during the afternoon, more than 2,000 customers across the metro were without electricity. Nearly 1,500 of them were in north Omaha from Reynolds Street south to Camden Avenue and 9th Street west to 28th Avenue, impacted by the circuit issue. That was repaired just after 3:30 p.m. All power was restored by 11:30 p.m.
Police in Lincoln closed off the 6100 block of Havelock due to the risk of scaffolding falling.
