A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Nemaha County in Nebraska until 5 p.m. and eastern Fremont, southeastern Mills, southern Montgomery and Page counties in Iowa until 5:15 p.m. Sunday.
A Bellevue church is cleaning up the mess after a weekend break-in.
Sunday services were cancelled Sunday morning at Spirit Life Assemblies of God Church at 48th and Harrison. But pastor Charles Davis still spent the morning there while police investigated a burglary.
The thieves broke in the front doors and eventually made it back to the finance room. They tried unsuccessfully to pry open the safe.
"With the doors here and the doors inside we probably have a couple thousand dollars worth of damage. And they got $7 or $8 worth of change," Davis said.
The change that was stolen came from a children's donation bucket in the lobby.
