Monday was an exciting day at Omaha Christian Academy. Students, parents, and other members of the community gathered in anticipation as the school began construction on a new gymnasium.
School board member Paula Wells says, "We hope to have it done by the first of the year. It might be the first of February. I have a son who is on the basketball team and I promised he'd get to practice in a new gym before he graduated."
Since the school was built six years ago, the basketball team has had to practice in Blair.
Private donations helped fund the project.
