The Winterfest Olympics are coming to Eugene T. Mahoney State Park near Ashland in eastern Nebraska.
Saturday's events are scheduled to run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and include archery, slingshot shooting, fishing and sled races.
The activities are aimed at children 5 through 10.
There will be a disc golf tournament at the park on Saturday, January, 4th, too. It will be open to adults and kids, and loaner discs will be available. The tournament begins at 1 p.m.
Registration is $10. Proceeds will benefit Hunters Helping the Hungry, a Nebraska Game and Parks Commission program for distributing donated venison at food pantries across the state.
A park entry permit is required for each vehicle entering the park.
