Seven children found living in dirty and deplorable conditions are now in protective custody after police served a search warrant at an Omaha home near North 38th and Browne streets.
Inside, officers found three adults and seven children living among meth, marijuana and drug pipes and scales. One of the broken drug pipes was found on the floor near a bed where two of the children slept.
Every room was littered with cat droppings. Police say there was little food to feed the 10 residents.
Sheila Denny, grandparent of five of the children, and Steve Lacey, father of two of the kids, have been charged with child neglect.
