A seven-year-old child was taken from a home that was deemed too filthy for human habitation.
According to Omaha Police reports, the caller had stopped by a home near 62nd and Buckingham Ave to check on the child's welfare.
The caller stated the mother was "acting erratically" and called police.
Officers noted the conditions inside the home were "deplorable." They found trash covered floors and counter space, dirty dishes everywhere, feces in the boy's bedroom, food stuck to the floor, dirty water sitting in the tub and graffiti on almost every wall inside the house.
The boy was removed from the home and placed with Project Harmony. The 23-year-old mother was cited for child neglect.
