Child Sexual Assault Trial Underway
A man accused of sexually assaulting a boy from his Harlan church in the 1990s is on trial in Pottawattamie County.
Sixty-eight-year-old Bobby Smith allegedly took the 12-year-old to a Council Bluffs hotel where he sexually abused the boy. Smith was a youth teacher at the First Baptist Church where he allegedly met his victim.
Smith waived his right to a jury trial so a judge is hearing the testimony. Prosecutors believe there could be more Smith victims and urge anyone with information to come forward.
