A 52-year old Arlington, Nebraska man has been sentenced to serve ten years in prison for receiving child pornography. Robert A. Sheldon was arrested after an undercover investigation by the Nebraska Attorney General’s Office Rural Cybercrime Unit.
Tuesday’s sentencing was handed down by the Honorable Laurie Smith Camp in U.S. Federal court in Omaha.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s office, the RCU discovered that child pornography was being shared from an IP address assigned to Sheldon’s home. A search warrant was executed in February of this year. More than 200,000 sexually explicit images of children were found on Sheldon’s computer hard drives.
Once he serves the ten year sentence, Sheldon will then begin a lifetime term of supervised release.
