Charges Filed in Animal Abuse Case

An arrest has been made in an animal abuse case that resulted in the deaths of two dogs. Krystal Walton, 22, faces two counts of animal cruelty.

Fact Finders brought the case to light two months ago. Walton was arrested Wednesday morning.

The Humane Society's Mark Langan says both dogs had been stabbed and one was shot. Their bodies were found in Walton's home near 50th and Interstate 680 late last year.

Langan says forensic evidence took time to analyze.

Felony animal abuse carries up to a five year prison sentence.

Walton's two-year-old daughter is now living with a relative.
