An accident victim's family will soon get closure after the woman charged with motor vehicle homicide changed her plea to guilty.
Kerri Collier of Woodbine, Iowa was driving the car that struck and killed Jeannette McGrew (pictured) just outside of Missouri Valley on February 1, 2012. Collier pleaded guilty to an amended charge of motor vehicle homicide, a class C felony. She had been charged with a higher level felony.
Collier will be sentenced next month.
Fact Finders did several investigations on the length of time it had taken to get the case resolved. Investigators waited months for toxicology reports because Collier allegedly had taken prescription drugs before driving. The amount in her system had to be determined.
