Census Data: Nebraska Slowly Growing

OMAHA The state of Nebraska is slowly growing. According to new data, the state has an estimated 1,868,516 residents.

The United States Census Bureau released data Thursday estimating populations of all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.

Nebraska had the 32nd largest population change between April 1, 2010 and July 1, 2013. According to Census estimates, the statewide population has grown by 13,166 most of that through births.

While the increase in population was small Nebraska avoided losing population. Two states, Maine and West Virginia, lost population over the past three years.
