As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, schools throughout Nebraska are holding tornado drills. Thankfully, it is rare for a school to be hit by a tornado, but as we saw last year in Joplin, Missouri and this month in Henryville, Indiana – it happens so students must be prepared.
The school district in Henryville has released surveillance video that shows its high school being torn apart as it happens. An EF-4 tornado hit the school about 3 pm March 2. Thankfully, school had already let out. About 80 staff and students were in the building when the tornado hit.
We have the video attached to this story.
