A pickup owner tries to save his truck from a thief by jumping in the back.
It happened around 3:30 Thursday afternoon at Woodcliff Lake south of Fremont.
According to Saunders County officials, John De la rosa from Omaha was working on a home at the lake, when he heard his truck start up. When it pulled away, he jumped in the truck bed.
Saunders County officials tell Channel 6 News, 19-year-old Cirino Triplet was behind the wheel.
De la rosa broke the back window and Triplet jumped out. The truck hit a tree and Triplet took off running.
Around 7:00 Thursday night Saunders County Sheriff's Deputies and a K-9 found Triplet near the lake. He was taken to a nearby hospital as a precaution. He will be booked in the Saunders County jail.
De la rosa went to a hospital as well. Saunders County officials say his injuries are not life-threatening.
