An Omaha man was killed Wednesday morning while on his way to work. The Cass County, Nebraska sheriff says 36-year old Richard Topp was killed when he became involved in a car, motorcycle, deer collision.
It was reported at 5:49am on Highway 50, about a half mile south of Louisville. Witnesses say a car, driven by 46-year old Jerry M. Cavanaugh of Syracuse, was northbound when a deer ran onto the road. Cavanaugh collided with the deer, causing it to go airborne into the southbound lane and into the path of Topp. Topp was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Topp was thrown from his motorcycle. Investigators believe he was killed by the impact with the deer. The other driver was not injured.
