Car Hits Embankment, Airborne 104 Feet

The Gage County Sheriff’s office is investigating a crash that left a woman hospitalized with life threatening injuries. Investigators say 27-year-old Jennifer Valenta’s car left Highway 77, entered a ditch, hit an embankment, and went airborne for 104 feet.

The crash was reported about 10:30pm Monday. It happened along Highway 77 near West Chestnut, which is north of Beatrice.

Valenta of Wilber was transported to Bryan LGH West in Lincoln. The car’s air bags did not deploy. The report says Valenta was not wearing seatbelts.

Investigators are awaiting toxicology reports to determine if alcohol was involved. Valenta was driving a 2007 GMC Envoy
