Update: Police Say Alcohol Factor In Crash

An Omaha man was booked on multiple counts, including driving under the influence, after crashing his car into a house near 11th and Martha.

According to police, 34-year-old Ludi Oleta-Acosta was involved in a hit and run crash at 13th and 13th Court. He allegedly left the area in his van, at a high rate of speed, and ran a stop sign. That's where his van collided with a tan, Nissan Maxima driven by 28-year-old Marvin Cruz-Lozano.

Investigators say that the impact of the collision caused Cruz-Lozano to crash into a home on 11th Street. He was taken to the hospital and is being treated for a brain bleed, skull fracture, multiple spinal fractures and a bruised lung. No one inside the home was hurt.

Oleta-Acosta allegedly hit another vehicle, unoccupied and parked, before he was taken into custody. He was booked for Felony DUI – Serious Bodily Injury, leaving scene of property damage accident, violate a stop sign, no operator’s license and driving during suspension.
