People get to choose what channels they watch, but can they choose who provides those channels?
Many tell Channel Six that their homeowners associations or landlords have banned satellite dishes.
The FCC's "Over-the-Air Reception Devices Rule "... prohibits restrictions that impair the installation, maintenance or use of antennas .. including satellite dishes .." But there are ways around the law, which creates uncertainty.
"So, if you have a tenant that wants to have it, they really can't say no," author Paul Vojchehoske said. "However, they can say that you can only have it within your apartment. So, from a practical point of view, they have said no."
People can file a complaint with the FCC.
