Kids Can has announced the recipients of the Can Do awards for 2014.
This year's Can Do Citizen award will be given to Jessie Rasmussen. President of the Buffet Early Childhood Fund, Rasmussen manages early childhood investments in Nebraska and at the national level.
Her professional career has been focused on improving outcomes for children and families in our community. The Can Do Citizen award is sponsored by BlueCross BlueShield of Nebraska.
Brand new to this year is the Can Do Hope award which will honor Ken Bird.
President and CEO of the Avenue Scholars Foundation, Bird has dedicated his time to provide graduation assistance and access to Omaha area high school students who have academic promise and financial need.
During his career, Bird has received numerous awards and recognition for his outstanding work in the community including the advancement of literacy and education. This year's Can Do Hope award is sponsored by Gallup.
Both will be honored at the 10th Annual Kids Can Fundraiser Luncheon on May 6, 2014, at the CenturyLink Center and featured keynote speaker Shane Lopez. Tickets are now available.
